HARDSHIP FUND AND ASSISTANCE

As a church, we recognise the unique and extraordinary challenges that some of our members and society at large may experience generally time and again. In times like these, the COVID 19 pandemic has made the burdens of life worse for many of our members and society at large. Pursuant to that, we have set up a Hardship Fund which is administered by a non-remunerated Hardship Committee and consequentially all funding by way of donations to The Hardship Fund is channelled towards serving the requests of the needy.

Investing in kindness

Investment growth contributes significantly to human capital and we do this by extending a hand of kindness in needy cases where we can.

Eligibility

Applications are encouraged from all our stakeholders. This will normally include people who are:
• Church members who currently worship with us
• Church members who have been absent due to different circumstances
• Other people who are known to us who are attached to us because a spouse, a daughter or son or indeed a relative worship with us at some point.
• Other people who by nature of interaction with our membership are identified by the Hardship Committee as qualifying.
• There are others who do not fall into this category that the committee may deem qualified but only in exceptional circumstances.

It is expected that the grant will be up to £300 (three hundred pounds) but applications for higher grants are welcome to a maximum of £1 000 in very exceptional cases. Money is restricted and will be allocated according to priority based on individual needs and a Risk assessment carried out by the committee. Even though we are eager to help everyone, we will not be able to agree to every request. Some application may be turned down on the basis of risk reviews that the committee will make. In some cases, instead of giving direct financial assistance, the committee may decide to assist in kind  for example by providing  food hampers or sign posting the requesting part to other relevant institutions that can offer help of a particular nature

There will be no limit as to the reasons for the grant applications.
